I saw them in JCPenny, and parots had me intrigued. They were ornamental birds for the most part, a pair of lovebirds. The pair were the very top of escape artists and without a full scale effort, we would wake up to them out in the house.  To make it worse, dad had bought expensive woven wood curtains for the  new home he had built.  The lovebirds devoured the ends of all the wood in those curtains. I think that was the worst heart ache I caused my dad over those lovebirds. Good thing his money came easy, both of his knees had large abnormal growths on them from doing floors and things on the job. I’m glad my knees never did those shapes!
